1. How much time do you spend on the computer a day?
Too much...but wait, before you judge let me explain!!! I'm a research assistant, so I have alot of down time at work. Like right now...I'm extracting DNA from mouse tails. I'm in the middle of a ten minute down time (the ethanol is evaporating). I'm actually on the last set of these, but I have another set I'm about to start. So I work for like 2 minutes, wait 10, and on like that. And then when I start PCR its like a 2 hour wait time...oh no, did I lose some followers...I hope not! Ok, ok, no more nerdy talk!!!!
2. Will you pay for your children's college or raise them to pay for their own way?
This is actually something we kinda disagree on. I think this is what we are going to do, but we have a few more years to think about it. I think we are going to save some money, but just for tuition. We are going to encourage good grades and applying for scholarships. If they get scholarships, then they can use whatever money that was alloted to tuition for rent, car, whatever they want to. But if they don't, then they have tuition saved up...make sense? like I said, got a few years...plus we gotta get outta debt first...
3. Have you ever been in a car accident?
Ugh. When you turn left out of our apartment complex its a blind curve. I was in a hurry one day, didn't see the truck in the bottom of the curve and hit him. Yup, totalled my car (and his I think?) and spilled my coffee everywhere. Oh, I was so shoke up I was crying and shaking and had left my cell phone at home. This super sweet guy hugged me and let me borrow his cell to call the hubby, who came walking down from the apt complex with Leah in a stroller. Then later in the day we went to Wal-Mart and the cashier looked at me and says "Were you in a wreck this morning?" "I remember you because you were so upset." I'd changed clothes and everything. No, I'm not a drama queen...
4. What is your favorite book?
Oh my, too many to mention? The Genesis Code by John Case. Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. and alot more...
5. Do you make your bed everyday?
Nope. There's a hubby snoring in it when I leave, and truthfully, I wouldn't make it even if he left before me, lol. Just ask my mom :-)
I'm so totally intrigued by your job!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from Mama M.'s! Happy Friday!
I like your thoughts on college tuition. Going to catalog those in my brain for the future. :)
ReplyDeleteI am hoping my kids get a good scholarship cause we are not paying for their college education. We are going to try to help with living expenses but tuition is their responsibility. I think it is good for kids to know that up front so that they put every effort necessary into their education in high school too.
ReplyDeletemaking the bed is overrated! ;) I am lucky to get the sheets washed and changed ... much less make it!! ha ha!
ReplyDeleteand I don't know how people in todays world save for anything... much less college!
grants and loans... unless we magically come upon extra cash flow!
Have a lovely weekend!
