It's pouring
The old man is snoring
Hurry get the man out of bed
Before the flood comes closer
These pictures are from the facebook group I survived the Great Nashville Monsoon of May 1st
The only thing is ... it's not stopping. Its still raining. And this isn't just me saying, oh look on the other side of town this is happening...in this city close to us ... uh no, this is happening to me and my family! Thank to Lord we live on a huge hill, but I'm describing it as if we lived in a castle with a moat around it. My husband couldn't get home from work because any entrance into our complex is flooded. These are some pictures I took of the tv as it was showing pictures of I-24 ... less than a mile from my house. I drive it every single day coming home from work.
This video is amazing. It is a water rescue happening on the same road that I drive down all the time. This helicopter is probably flying over my house.
My MIL found this picture ... this is the road that leads to the entrance to our house! See the cars? That's where Andrew got to. See the people? That's where we live. Looks like I may have Monday off ...
And it is still raining, and pouring outside my house right now! Oh please pray for Nashville and my husband who is at work...
Oh my goodness..thoughts and prayers coming your way and I hope your husband is able to make it home soon!

ReplyDeleteLots of prayers that you and your family stay safe and dry. Hopefully the rain subsides soon. Think you can order an Arc online and have it delivered via helicopter?

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, wow that is a lot of rain. Praying for all of those in the area and your hubby.
ReplyDeleteI like the nursery rhyme start off to your blog, but then....it gets serious. Yes, I pray that whatever happens weather-wise, you, your husband and your family will feel God's love for you and you will be able to praise Him for His goodness no matter what comes.
ReplyDeleteOh WOW! That is some scary stuff. I hope the rain stops soon! Enjoy your day off....as much as you can with it raining!
ReplyDeleteoh wow. you should consider evacuating your family, especially if you have small children with you. flooding is a normal occurrence in my country, and a lot of people end up on the roofs of their houses because they didnt leave when they had the chance.
ReplyDeletei hope you have stocked up on food and water and other emergency stuff (flashlights, matches, etc). will pray that the waters subside soon so your hubby can go home.
hugs :)
Oh no, I am so sorry! You are in my thoughts. Stay safe.
