  2. give the girls plenty of fluids, christy. oh,a nd have some bananas, if you can get some. sweating makes you lose a lot of electrolytes, and the last thing you need is fainting from the heat or not feeling your extremities. load up on the potassium :)

  3. i don't know about the North making fun of the South about canceling classes due to snow, but here in DC we cancel classes due to snow as well, and some people also make fun of us saying we don't know how to deal with snow. anyway, the heat is oppressive these days. this is too much for me coming from hawaii.

  4. We only have 2 seasons here! Hot and Hot as Hell!
We are on a streak of 100+ degree weather this week. It will be triple digits here until mid September and then may 90s until December. I hate the desert! LOL

  6. HA! I was thinking the exact same thing this a.m. We've been watching a little more of the Weather Channel lately to keep an eye on the tropical disturbances and I actually laughed when they were talking about the heatwave in the DC area and their advice was to 'stay indoors' and not to go out. Seriously? ;)

  7. I would totally agree with you about the lameness of hiding from the heat....but that's where all my relatives are from, and there pertty much isn't air conditioning up there. Seriously, if ou have it, it's one of those little window deals in the living room, and that's *it*. So, I understand that much at least. But I do think they should cut us a *little* slack on the snow-same concept, we don't have the tools to deal with it!
